CHROMITE
Mined in South Africa, Chromite is a crystal structure composed primarily of chromium oxide, iron oxide, magnesium oxide and aluminum oxide. It occurs naturally as part of a volcanic process in the area millions of years ago. Chromite Sands offer better thermal expansion/conductive properties than silica sand which can benefit casting quality. AMCOL is the only vertically integrated chromite sand producer in
the world and can offer high quality chromite sand in a variety of particle
size distributions.
