BENTONITE
Mined in the United States, China, Turkey and Australia, Bentonite is an ore composed of a clay mineral called montmorillonite. It was formed hundreds of millions of years ago through the aqueous deposition of volcanic ash. Known for its high affinity for water, bentonite can be used in hundreds of ways from waterproofing to wine clarification. AMCOL is a primary producer of both calcium and sodium bentonite.
